H. G. Mason, better known as Mace, was born in Newark, NJ.  He currently resides in the South Metro area of Atlanta, Georgia.  Mace started drumming on his mother's pots ,pans and sewing machine top at a very young age.  Realizing that he had talent, his parents purchased his first set of drums before the age of 8.  Since then, his love for music has continued to blossom.  Growing up, Mace enjoyed listening to artists such as James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Average White Band, Funkadelic and other Funk/R&B masters.  He always said that he would like to play drums for Earth Wind & Fire (or anyone else that would listen).
